News Update August 2019
The club has a new Secretary and Show Secretary – Sharon Watson has taken on these two key officer posts on the AFPC committee. Sharon can be contacted on 01273 858568. Her email is email@example.com. . Sharon lives and works at Middle Farm and has been involved with poultry for many years, along with her husband Ken.
Sharon and Ken kindly hosted the club’s summer outing in July, which was a very interesting early evening tractor-trailer tour around some of the 600 acres of Middle Farm, part of the Firle Estate, with running commentary by our hosts. This was followed by a delicious buffet and chats around the tables outside in the warm evening sunlight. It was much enjoyed by the members.
Rachel Butcher’s photos of the Box Show in May can now be seen on the Gallery page of the website, in a subsidiary folder. They are very clear and give an excellent idea of the atmosphere of the evening.

Anne Hudson Club President 8th January 1934 – 13th March 2019
We are very sad to announce the death of club President Anne Hudson in March. Anne was a stalwart member of the club, rarely missing any club event in over 20 years. She held the offices of Treasurer, Secretary and Chairman until 2012, when she became President. Anne was particularly keen on exhibiting eggs – winning the Wessex Egg Show – and organising educational events for children at Ardingly. She made a stunning display which was taken to many shows, which had eggs of every size from tiny pigeon eggs up to enormous ostrich eggs. She will be much missed.
